• If the list is open (anyone can join) you will need to reply to a confirmation email so check your email
• If the list is closed, it will require approval from the list administrator but you will receive an email confirmation when/if you are approved.

Box Tops for Education & Kid$ Cap$ and Ca$h:  The Houghton Elementary Student Council is organizing a Box Tops for Education & Kid$ Cap$ and Ca$h competition for the remainder of the school year.  All students are encouraged to bring in trimmed Box Tops and washed Morning Glory Milk Caps in a baggie/envelope.  Clearly mark the package with your classroom teacher's name in order to receive credit for the competition.  Each Box Top earns $0.10 while each Milk Cap earns $0.05.  All proceeds will benefit Houghton Elementary School.  

Early Dismissals & Delayed Starts:  Please review with your children where they should go when an early dismissal occurs.  The information that you have given on your child�s emergency card is the information that teachers are given.  If this has changed, please contact the office so it can be updated.

It has happened in the past during an early dismissal that there is only 45 minutes to get over 500 students ready and out to the buses.  There is no time for students to call parents to get instructions.   If your child had plans to go to a friend�s house and an early dismissal occurs, children are advised to follow their early dismissal plan from the emergency card.

On a delayed start, classes (K-5) will begin at 10:15 a.m.  This is two hours later than usual.  Buses will run two hours later than usual also.  Also on a delayed start day the kindergarten child care room will open at  9:45 a.m.. 

Remember if there is an early dismissal or school cancellation, Great Explorations and the kindergarten child care are not in session and all after school activities are canceled.
